Arctic Wonderland Tours is a family owned hotel and tours operator in Ammassalik area. The company consists of two hotels, one in Tasiilaq, the capital of East Greenland and the other in Kulusuk close to the airport and one of the villages of the area.

The first hotel was built in 1974 by Kelly and his wife Erica and since then they have shown visitors the friendly culture and the savage landscape of East Greenland. Nowadays the company is run by their sons. Arctic Wonderland Tours offers guided tours both on Kulusuk and in Tasiilaq, introducing East Greenland culture and nature to the their guests.

Dines Mikaelsen comes from a family of great hunters from the most southern village in East Greenland - Isortoq. He has been working in tourism for over 10 years and has extensive experience with all kinds of tours and support for tours, both winter and summer. Dines is fluent in English, Danish and speaks some German.

Growing up in a small village and being the eldest son of a hunter, means that Dines’ skills have all been tested in the remote fjords and valleys in East Greenland. Dogsleding has always been part of Dines everyday life and Dines is a EEP 4 level approved kayak guide.

John Christensen came to East Greenland more than 20 years ago. He settle down in the town and established Discovery Lodge & Charter. The company has now evolved into two guest houses and a boat for 8 passage.

The amazing East Greenland at 70 degrees north. The Ittoqqortoormiit area has it all: the world’s the largest and deepest fjord system - the warmest hot springs in Greenland and the world’s largest national park, besides the highest mountain in the Arctic, Mt. Gunnbjorns Fjeld (3.694 meters).

Nanu Travel is a locally owned company established in 1998. Nanu Travel is situated in Ittoqqortoormiit or Scoresby Sund, and it is one of the most remote settlements in Greenland so if you are looking for the true, remote wilderness, this is the place to go.

Sigurður Pétursson is the owner and founder of Siggi tours. He has been sailing the waters of East Greenland since 1998. Siggi started out in fishing but has now gone mainly over to tourism. He is an Icelandic fisherman going west, but unlike his ancestors before him, he managed to get through the great ice that flows down the east coast of Greenland and settle in Kuummiut the original settlement on the coast and the largest of the 5 villages of Ammassalik area.

He is an experienced captain and he has over the years familiarised himself with the challenges of sailing in East Greenland. He works with all kinds of groups offering day trips as well as long boat trips.

Robert Peroni first came to Ammassalik some 30 years ago. His fascination with the area brought him back and in the mid-90’s he established The Red House in collaboration with locals. He is a pioneer in developing tourism in East Greenland.

The Hotel is located on a hill in the southern part of Tasiilaq and offers a panoramic view of the King Oscar’s Fjord, sheltered by sharp and snow dotted peaks. Our reception is located in the hotel among other amenities such as a restaurant and a library.

Many adventurers come to us for advice about activities, hiking routes and ice conditions etc. Our knowledge of the area has grown over the past many years and we are proud to be an essential partner in the local tourism industry.

The Red House is a hotel, but we also accommodate guests in our expedition lodges and our exclusive private house.

Moreover we run the Tasiilaq camping site, located directly on the sea and close to the heliport. The Basecamp is established since 15 years on historic ground Iddimiini. Most of our tours depart there. We provide common kitchen tent with tables and benches, daily fresh watersupply, dry toilet & washing facilities.

We also run the local camping site located at the edge of Tasiilaq, where most of our tours depart.

We offer various tours and accommodation year around, as well as logistic support for filmcrews etc.

Since the company was founded in 2017 it has grown with 15 dogs, a snowmobile, a transportable sauna, a campsite, as well as a large selection of equipment for rental, and by 2021 we expand the company with a rental house which can accommodate 4 persons.

Since 2017 we have worked with several film crews among others on the drama production for "Thin Ice"
